What plant is this? What plant is this?

Chrisanna
Trying to identify this house plant. It has velvety leaves that are dark green & purple around the edges. The flowers are very small white pom pom shaped flowers. The leaves are fuzzy. Any clue what this is & if so I need care instructions because this one isn't doing so good.

Hi, I see that you are very knowledgable about impala lilies. I have been growing them from seed and some plants are now about 30 cm tall. Some of the leaves are going brown and dry on the very tips. Does that mean that its now getting enough water, or is it overwatering? I try not to overwater because I know that they rot. My gut feeling tells me that no enough water is getting to the root??? Is my theory correct?
Kind regards

Athene

I found these in a garden at work in Miami, FL. They start off white and the size of a golf balls with a soccer ball pattern. Then open to a red honeycomb with brown/black mucus inside each honey comb. Just wondering what they are. I'm not sure how to add the pictures I took.

Would would cause these symptoms?

Also, I think this is a different issue then the ones I mentioned in my previous questions about my cantaloupe, so I'm not trying to spam. Sorry if I am.

Maybe you should go back to have them pull them out? Raw potatoes help get splinters out. You cut one and hold it at the site of the splinter. I don't know if it works on thorns though, and I think it would be better to go back to the doctor.
gardengeek
From which seeds did you get these thorns?

Can you help me figure out whats wrong with my cantaloupe?
Google didn't really help me figure this out: http://s1110.photobucket.com/albums/h445/NoviLunar/Plants/
The larger one looks to me like it also has some kind of fungus/disease and both look like something tried to bite/burrow into them, but I don't know.
I've had other fruits with damage like this (I've lost at least 4 fruit in total), but they were covered in nylon and there was no holes in the nylon. I cut two of them open looking for bugs but found none in them and there was no bugs in the nylon.

I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but I didn't know the big one was out there till today so it's been sitting unprotected on the ground for at least a few weeks.
There are cucumber beetles out there. I've seen less of them since I've sprayed homemade insecticidal soap but there's still some.

Also, we have squirrels, possums and occasionally rabbits, but I have never seen them mess with the cantaloupe, and since there was no holes in the nylon that covered the other melons I don't know how they could've done anything to them.

I don't know if this is related, but I've also noticed leaves with brown spots with yellow borders:

http://s1110.photobucket.com/albums/h445/NoviLunar/Plants/?action=view&current=can_7027.jpg
And issues with the nearby bush beans:

http://s1110.photobucket.com/albums/h445/NoviLunar/Plants/?action=view&current=Bush_bean_7032.jpg

http://s1110.photobucket.com/albums/h445/NoviLunar/Plants/?action=view&current=Bush_bean_7033.jpg

Despite these issues, the cantaloupe plant as a whole looks great. It grew very large and made a bunch of flowers.
I can take more pictures and video. Any help would really be appreciated.

I don't know, but there are people discussing this here: http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/load/north/msg0819312914442.html Perhaps trying something they mentioned might work?

There is really no safe way to get rid of the fungus, without hurting the soil for a few years. Stinkhorns aren't harmful, and they only last for a few days usually.

My black eyed susan's were coming up fine then all of sudden the leaves starting getting clumps of black spots on them and with a reddish orange bump in the center of the black spots. I don't see any bugs on the leaves, and the flowers are getting ready to open. Could this be a fungus? any idea on what we can use to get rid of it? thanks Kathy Snell
Answer This Question

That is most likely a fungus. I would try to keep the area a littler drier, then possible spray some fungicide on it.
